The Target: 1968 Mercury Cougar.
Spotted: Santa Clara, Calif. April 21, 2012.
Significance: Introduced in 1967, the Ford Mustang-based Cougar was Mercury’s version of a pony car. The Cougar slotted neatly between the Mustang and Thunderbird, and became a performance icon for the Mercury brand.
